The largest city in Istria, Pula has lots on offer to keep you entertained. You must visit the Roman amphitheatre, which held 23,000 people and was built in the 1st century AD. The theatre still hosts events today and you may be lucky to catch a Pula Film Festival screening while you're in town.
The city is rich with architecture, with various temples, monuments, and cathedrals, including the famous Hercules Gate, as well as aquariums and fantastic restaurants. Further afield you could easily take a day trip in your car rental to Cape Kamjenak and explore the nature parks caves, beaches and waters.
